It all started in 1999. In a small basement office in Havixbeck, Afra and Robert Holtstiege laid the foundation for orderbase.

After a year, Afra and Robert realize that the basement office is too small for three employees. In order to get a little closer to world events, the move from Havixbeck to Münster-Hiltrup follows. Orderbase is hereby officially founded under the name “IQ Consulting GmbH” and with 3 employees.

In order to become better known throughout Germany, orderbase is intensively preparing to take part in the “StartUp” start-up competition run by the savings banks, Stern and McKinsey. In the end, all the effort was worth it and orderbase takes second place in the nationwide comparison.

IQ Consulting GmbH is renamed orderbase consulting GmbH.

orderbase continues to grow and now has 10 employees, who of course need enough space. The office in Münster-Hiltrup is therefore becoming too small and a new location is needed. As an IT company, it is a good idea to choose the Münster Technology Park as your new address. Orderbase is moving to the Deilmann House on Johann-Krane-Weg in the west of Münster.

With 18 employees now, things are getting tight in the office again, which is why orderbase is renting additional office space in the Deilmann House, thereby creating enough space to breathe and work.

In August, Afra and Robert develop and realize their idea for the orderbase TeamPlayer project. Every employee is encouraged to get involved socially and can get involved in their dream project. orderbase wants to take on social responsibility as a team and also encourage other companies to take part.

This year orderbase can once again welcome many new employees to the company. In order to do justice to the continuous growth and to be able to present themselves well to the outside world, Afra and Robert decide to build the orderbase house on Johann-Krane-Weg in the Münster Technology Park. There should be enough space here for all 35 employees and for those who want to become one. At the same time, the orderbase logo gets a new design.

After a construction phase of 8 months, the orderbase house is ready for occupancy. With a team of 39 employees, orderbase moves into its own four walls in a modern and technically fully equipped building, a workplace of the future.

In the same year, orderbase LP in Atlanta, USA, and the southern Germany branch were founded in order to be closer to customers. By founding the company in the USA, orderbase is laying the foundation for international business outside of Europe.

orderbase is taking part in the “Great Place To Work” competition for the first time. In a celebratory ceremony, orderbase was awarded second place as “Best Employer in Münsterland” in the size category of companies with 10 – 49 employees.

This year orderbase is again taking part in the “Great Place To Work” competition. After taking second place in the previous participation, orderbase is this time honored as “Best Employer in Münsterland” in the size category of companies with 50 – 500 employees.

By being named “Best Employer in Münsterland”, orderbase is also automatically qualified for the national competitions “Best Employer in Germany 2015” and “Best Employer in ICT 2015”. In both competitions, with 20th place in the 50 - 100 employee size category and 9th place in the 50 - 500 employee size category, orderbase is one of the top participants in a nationwide comparison.

In order to be able to use the free space behind the orderbase house sensibly for the future, the orderbase house I will be expanded this year with two new buildings (orderbase house II and M44 Meeting Center) to form the orderbase campus. After a construction phase of almost 12 months, the first tenants move into orderbase house II in November and the first Christmas parties take place in M44 in December.

In connection with the expansion of the orderbase campus, the orderbase logo is also getting a new coat of paint and the entire corporate design is being revised.

orderbase is now taking part in the “Great Place To Work” competition for the third time. At the awards ceremony in Münster, orderbase was awarded third place as “Best Employer in Münsterland” in the size category of companies with 50 – 500 employees.

In addition, orderbase achieved another excellent “Great Place To Work” result with 7th place in the nationwide comparison of the industry competition “Best Employers in ICT 2017” among companies with 50-100 employees.

Founded in a small basement, orderbase has developed into a successful medium-sized company with over 70 employees. Together with all employees, we celebrated this properly and grew even closer together as a team.

In addition, orderbase received the “Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Enterprises” this year and was named “Top 100 Innovator”.

Corona initially left us all in a bit of a state of shock, but as a digital company we mastered the transition to mobile office very well and were able to go into the future strengthened through this phase. The flexible hybrid work options continue to be used with pleasure. Our events will continue to be offered in hybrid form so that all employees have the opportunity to participate.

This year we have four things to look forward to. In the “Great Place To Work” employer competition, we achieved first place in our size in the “Best Employers in Münsterland” and “Best Employers in NRW” categories and in the “Best Employers in ICT” and “Germany” categories “Best Employers” took second place.

We are very proud and grateful for these awards and want to continue to do our best to be a good employer for our employees in the future.

With a wistful and at the same time proud look, we say goodbye to our esteemed founder and previous managing director, Robert Holtstiege. After many successful years in which he built up and shaped the company orderbase consulting GmbH, Robert is now retiring to allow himself more time for his private life with his wife Afra.

Under his leadership, orderbase consulting GmbH has achieved numerous milestones and established itself as a reliable partner in the industry. We are deeply indebted to Robert for his visionary leadership and tireless commitment.

As we move into a new era, we are pleased that orderbase consulting GmbH is now part of the portfolio of the renowned investor Elvaston. This step allows us to further expand our strengths and offer our customers even better solutions.

From now on, the business will be continued by our managing director Dominik Eckervogt. With his many years of experience as a co-responsible person at orderbase, Ecky will continue the successful development of the company and provide new impetus.

A quarter of a century of successful company history – that’s a reason to celebrate! orderbase consulting GmbH proudly looks back on 25 years of continuous growth, innovation and partnership. We celebrated this special anniversary with an unforgettable trip to Berlin.

Our anniversary trip was not only an opportunity to celebrate the successes of the past few years, but also to grow even closer together as a team. We spent inspiring days full of exciting experiences and activities together in the pulsating capital.

The 25th anniversary of orderbase consulting GmbH would not have been possible without the trust and support of our customers, partners and of course our dedicated team. Every single employee has made an important contribution to our success through their commitment and passion.
