With the help of this extension, you no longer have to store your own bill of material in the system for all variants, but simply specify the different characteristics using parameter sheets. Product configuration for sales representatives
A manufacturer of industrial machines uses orderbase VariPlus as an add-on within Microsoft Dynamics 365. Sales employees use this add-on to configure tailor-made industrial machines for customers.
Customer request
A customer contacts the company and needs an industrial machine specifically tailored to their production needs. The sales employee receives the request and begins the configuration in the orderbase VariPlus.
Product configuration in VariPlus
The sales employee navigates to the desired machine type in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and opens the orderbase VariPlus AddOn extension. Here he can configure the various options:
- Technical specifications: The employee selects the required power, capacity and other technical parameters.
- Additional Modules: If necessary, the employee adds additional modules such as sensors, control systems or extensions.
- Spare parts and accessories: He can also select specific spare parts and accessories required for the machine.
Generation of bill of material and offers
After all configurations are completed, the AddOn automatically generates a detailed bill of material for the configured machine. This bill of material contains all required components, accessories and specific adjustments. In addition, a suitable routing is also configured.
Quoting
Based on the configured machine and the generated parts list, the sales representative can now create a tailor-made offer for the customer. The offer contains all technical details, prices and delivery times.
Efficient order processing
After the customer approves the quote, the sales representative can create the order directly from Microsoft Dynamics 365. All information from the configuration in the orderbase VariPlus is automatically transferred to the order, which enables efficient and error-free processing of the order.
